Xiao Wáng then made the decision to not let this gold mine run away. Hence, Xiao Wáng began to court the village lady. Honestly, the village lady was a fairly decent beauty, and she was only one year younger than Xiao Wáng. With her simple mindset that still hasn’t met the cruel, scheming world of business, the village lady named Xiao Huā easily fell in love with Xiao Wáng. It was not until after they got married that Xiao Huā realized the mistake she had made.

After Xiao Wáng successfully courted Xiao Huā, he brought her back with him to his world of riches and held a luxurious wedding with her. Xiao Huā was shocked at first as Xiao Wáng did not pursue her with his wealth back at the village; however Xiao Huā gradually accepted it. Xiao Wáng then taught Xiao Huā the in and outs of business, taking her with him to gain experience on business trips, and also providing her with large investments in assets. Without any surprise, Xiao Huā magnificently grew her business as she seemed to have a natural knack for running businesses. Xiao Huā began to grow her business at a rapid pace, and Xiao Wáng knew that she would hit her net worth in this life time at this rate.

However, Xiao Wáng was not satisfied. Xiao Wáng didn’t want Xiao Huā to have the same net worth as him, Xiao Wáng wanted Xiao Huā to exceed his net worth! How else will he increase his own net worth sufficiently if that were not the case! Hence, Xiao Wáng began to use his second ability on Xiao Huā constantly, increasing her net worth exponentially.

Xiao Huā had no clue about Xiao Wáng’s abilities, so Xiao Huā always thought that Xiao Wáng was actually doting on her, caring for her, and loving her. Hence, Xiao Huā worked even harder in order to meet Xiao Wáng’s expectations. To the world’s surprise, Xiao Huā’s company grew to sky high proportions within a year as it began to creep its way into all sorts of industries. Xiao Huā became known as one of the richest women in the world as many charming men came to court her, ignoring the fact that she had a husband. However, Xiao Huā shunned these men and stayed loyal to Xiao Wáng as Xiao Wáng was the one that she truly loved.

On the other hand, Xiao Wáng continued to dote on Xiao Huā to increase her net worth while happily enjoying his new life. From time to time, Xiao Wáng would attend funerals of his past students who all happen to pass away at a fairly young age; however, Xiao Wáng was glad he reaped all the profits from them already. Although the doctors did warn Xiao Wáng that those students had died to an inexplicable disease that seems to make them grow old faster, and the doctors did request funds to research this diseases from Xiao Wáng, but Xiao Wáng ignored them while shelving this fact to the back of his mind as he was too busy enjoying his happy life.

Years passed as Xiao Wáng and Xiao Huā continued to be a couple. Xiao Huā began to notice something wrong with their relationship as Xiao Wáng seemed only to care about her money and not the family itself as Xiao Wáng never seemed to want to have a child with her; however, seeing as how Xiao Wáng continued to dote on her, Xiao Huā’s love blinded her from the truth as she shelved her suspicions away. Instead, Xiao Huā only diverted some of her attention from her business to leave more time for her to spend with Xiao Wáng.

Xiao Wáng was disappointed that Xiao Huā would turn away from her business and reprimanded her for doing so. It was then that Xiao Huā realized the truth that her intuition had been trying to hint to her. Xiao Huā heart was in pain; however, Xiao Huā stayed strong. Xiao Huā believed that with enough time, she would be able to change Xiao Wáng’s importance that he placed on money to her. Besides working extremely hard to grow her business as Xiao Wáng demanded, Xiao Huā also spent every extra moment of her time thinking up ways to make Xiao Wáng happy in the smallest ways even if it meant she would end up exhausted for long periods of time. Although Xiao Wáng was disgruntled over the fact that Xiao Huā was wasting time on him instead of earning money, Xiao Wáng also did not hate the fact that he had someone that cared about him.

A couple more years passed as Xiao Wáng’s love of money was chipped away by Xiao Huā bit by bit as it was replaced by memories to be cherished between the two. It was now Xiao Wáng’s 35th birthday, and Xiao Wáng was waiting for Xiao Huā to surprise him with her birthday surprise on him this year just like every other year; however, Xiao Wáng decided that this year, he would also give her a big surprise as he had finally decided to fulfill Xiao Huā’s desire that she had always constantly dropped hints of wanting: a family, their own child.

Xiao Wáng sat on the sofa in his mansion as he waited for Xiao Huā to come home like every other year. With the decision made to start a family, it seemed like the final barrier between Xiao Wáng and Xiao Huā was broken. As Xiao Wáng sat there waiting, he began to recall all his wonderful memories with Xiao Huā while a gentle smile surfaced on his face. Before Xiao Wáng knew it, it had already been an hour passed the usual time that Xiao Huā came home. Xiao Wáng was a bit confused on why Xiao Huā was late as she never was, hence Xiao Wáng decided to call her, only to find out that Xiao Huā was not picking up her phone.

Xiao Wáng couldn’t help but muse if it was going to be a new surprise while worrying a bit inside as he continued to wait; however, Xiao Huā never showed up even hours later. Xiao Wáng couldn’t help but worry as he continuously dialed Xiao Huā’s phone but with no success.

It was in the midst of this calls, Xiao Wáng received a call from the hospital. It was a notice that Xiao Huā was sent to the hospital due to collapsing at her company. Xiao Wáng’s heart shook in anxiety and fear as he immediately rushed off to the hospital. When, Xiao Wáng got there, he saw Xiao Huā lying on a hospital bed in a private room. As he rapidly rushed up to her, Xiao Wáng noticed that Xiao Huā’s once beautiful face was now filled with wrinkles and her hair had turned white. Xiao Wáng felt like his heart was pierced by nails as he grasped Xiao Huā’s hand, trying to wake her up but with no success.

With anger, Xiao Wáng grabbed the doctors and told them to cure Xiao Huā. The doctors only shook their head and told him there was currently still no cure for this inexplicable illness, but the doctors had deemed the cause to be overworking. Xiao Wáng knew better and had alrady linked the cause to his special ability, his cursed ability. Xiao Wáng was devastated as he began to invest all his money into finding a cure for the illness. Everday, Xiao Wáng would sit by Xiao Huā’s bedside while grasping her hand in regret, wishing she would wake up and smile towards him once more.

Years passed as Xiao Wáng went from a tycoon to a pauper trying to find a cure, but with no success. Out of money and out of hope, Xiao Wáng could only cry in despair by Xiao Huā’s bedside as he no longer had the money to keep her in the hospital. A feeling of despair and loss engulfed Xiao Wáng as he realized he has lost something far more important than money could ever buy.
