Dragon Raja New Cooking Star Promotion Guide

Steve’s Dragon Raja New Cooking Star Promotion Guide

Promote to new cooking star before others do!

— Steve

Stuck on the chef promotion for New Cooking Star? Don’t want to muddle your way through the quest and waste your vitality? Then you are at the right place! Steve has compiled Steve’s experience, when Steve has promoted to New Cooking Star, into this guide.

As a S1 Michelin Chef, when you have hit the requirements to promote (by filling the bars up to 12k), the chef career promotion quest should pop up in your quest log (if it doesn’t, simply open your chef career page, go to the home tab, and click the promotion button). Tapping on the quest will auto-path you to Koshi Uesugi (your chef promotion guy) where you will meet the guest Himeko.

Simply talk to the NPCs and go through all the dialogue until Himeko asks you to take a test. Agree to take the test and you should be asked 3 questions. The questions are rather difficult (if you don’t pay attention to the questions and know about the food backgrounds), but do note that if you answer wrong, you can start over (after you answer all 3 questions). So, you can keep trying until you get them all right. Or you could get the answers from Steve. Steve is unsure if the questions will be different for each player, but the questions Steve got were static. Do note that these questions and answers are not exact due to Steve’s faulty memory (and the multiple sections of dialogue that the NPC has for each question).

QuestionAnswer
Which food originated from India?Curry
Which is prepared at a different location?Okonomiyaki
Which employs different ingredients?Plain Noodles

After passing the test, talking to the NPCs will ensure that you have even more dialogue to skim through. If you are the type to read it all, you will listen to a tale of drama and romance. Afterwards, you will be given a choice whether to cook for Koshi Uesugi or Himeko. Disregarding your choice, you will still need to cook for Himeko.

Then, you will be request to cook some curry veggies for Himeko. Simply head to the kitchen and cook some curry veggies (recipe can be found in your cooking list). Bring the curry veggie back to Himeko and give it to her to move on with the quest.

Himeko will then tell you that your food is simply missing something. Well, there goes all your hard work. Koshi Uesugi should then tell you to go find Himeko’s lover to find out what she truly likes to eat. Simply tap on the quest in the quest log in order to auto-path to the trio of restaurant staffs in Ehime Prefecture. After listening to the restaurant staff’s dialogue, you should be able to talk to each of the restaurant staff.

After talking to the last restaurant staff, you will be required to complete a mini-game (where you have to guess the 3 food and their corresponding places). If you are stuck on this part, Steve doesn’t have much advice for you because it’s a logical puzzle that varies for every player. Steve’s strategy is to select the top 3 food items, then the leftmost 3 food items, then the middle vertical food items, then go from there using elimination. Also, when choosing food items, Steve makes sure to put previously selected food items in a different spot as that would allow us to guess its correct spot immediately if both of our current guesses have wrong spots (assuming the food item was a correct food item).

After beating the puzzle and going through the dialogue with the restaurant staff, you should learn that Himeko loves meat, not veggies. Simply head back to Koshi Uesugi and talk to him. You will be given a choice to cook veggie or meat for Himeko.. Obviously, choose to cook meat for Himeko.

After making your choice, the quest log should tell you to cook a dish with meat for Himeko. Note that there are many meat dishes but you only need one specific meat dish and the quest does not tell you which one. So, the tactic is to simply keep making each meat dish until you get the right one (do note that egg dishes count as meat dish!). Steve is unsure if the dish will be random for each player (as the chosen dish might be randomly selected from the player’s current available recipe bank); however, the dish that worked for Steve was Chawanmushi (do note that Steve has already owned this recipe before the quest began). This food recipe can be acquired through self developed cooking (the last tab in the chef career page), and the recipe for Chawanmushi is below.

Ingredients

  • 1 Wild Fish
  • 1 Seaweed
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Mushroom
  • 1 Table Salt
  • 1 Seasoning
  • 1 Soy Sauce

Cooking Steps

  1. Get ingredients from refrigerator
  2. Chop
  3. Stir, then choose to add 1 Table Salt and 1 Seasoning
  4. Steam and add one Soy Sauce
  5. Beat the mini game
  6. Appraise at the table

After cooking your meat dish, bring it back and give it to Himeko. If it is the correct dish, Himeko should allow you to give it to her. Otherwise, the quest mark above her head will stay gray and talking to her will not change anything. After giving the correct meat dish to Himeko, wait for her to enjoy the dish and leave. Then, talk to Koshi Uesugi to complete your promotion.

Completing your promotion will reward you the avatar Afternoon Dessert, the title New Cooking Star, and new recipes to cook.

That is all for Steve’s Dragon Raja New Cooking Star chef promotion guide! As always, if Steve find any ways to enhance the guide, Steve will update it! If you have any questions, suggestions, or disagreements, feel free to comment below or you can contact Steve through the contacts page; however, there is no guarantee for a good answer because Steve does not know everything about chef promotion. Now, go out there and cook up your chef rank!
